Fighting Corrosion in Queensland's Conditions

Corrosion is a significant concern in welding and fabrication, especially in Queensland's humid climate and in environments such as mining sites where exposure to harsh conditions is common.

There are several strategies for addressing corrosion. One is the use of anti-corrosive coatings and paints, which provide a barrier between the metal and the environment. Galvanization, or the application of a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, is another method.

In some cases, corrosion-resistant materials like stainless steel or aluminium may be chosen from the outset. Whether we are building a ute tray, refurbishing a bucket or repairing an aluminium boat, the right material and finish choices are made up front — not patched in later.
